Michigan State 67, Ohio State 60

I got home in time for the second half of today's game. Michigan State got some breaks from the officiating (there were some questionable calls that went against OSU), and they capitalized. Sometimes that happens in games, and it was nice to see us take advantage of the situation.

I started to feel bad for OSU, as I am a Big 10 guy through and through, and I would like to have 5 Big Ten teams in...but they are not getting in at the expense of MSU. Awwww hell no. Fuck that, and fuck them.

Back to the game...here's a few thoughts:

Game MVP: Drew Neitzel. 28 points. Dagger shot with 1:00 left. Sweet-ass juke move on a defender...pick up your drawers, son!

Guy who needs some more PT: Durrell Summers. Jamar Butler hit one of his trademark 3's from butt-fucking Egypt to pull OSU within 2, and then Summers catches a pass on the next possession and buries a triple of his own. After a defensive stop, Summers goes baseline and hits a leaning jumper. Instead of momentum switching back to OSU, Michigan State goes up 7, thanks to Mr. Summers.

Raymar Morgan: Bad. Terrible shooting. Sigh...

Quote of the Day: Steve Lavin, after Neitzel hit his big three with a minute left. As the ball goes through the net, Lavin shouts, "MONEY SHOT!" Yes, Neitzel gave the OSU defender a money shot right in the face. Dirty, dirty...

MSU vs. Wisconsin. Can't wait.

You better BELIEVE people were griping about the officiating on the radio tonight. I guess they were right if you acknowledged it.

I am split on their bid - on one side: I hate OSU. On the other, they played without a doubt the toughest schedule. UNC, Florida, Syracuse, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Butler... their only reprieve was only one game against Wisconsin and it was at home. Back on the other side: they only won 2 of those games and it's easy to guess which ones. They also lost both times to Indiana. They really lack a quality win outside of the Purdue & MSU wins they had at the end of the season.

Summers doesn't need more PT. Let him come in and excel in those few minutes before he makes big mistakes.

I am more ok with Raymar playing so terribly if it looks like Neitzel remembered it's March.

I am becoming a Pitt fan because one of my coworkers is a Pitt grad. They have gotten to the Big East Finals 6 of 7 years (only won 1 of those sadly) and apparently always lose by the sweet 16. If you check them out, look for Sam Young... he's awesome.

All I hear about Pitt is Lavance Fields...

If Summers gives quality minutes in his limited time...well, shouldn't he get more minutes???
