I was watching the Tiger's game yesterday, and they were showing Dave Dombrowski up in his suite looking down on the game. They also flashed the many titles he holds with the Tigers: General Manager, CEO, and President.
What the heck are the differences between those positions? Which is the highest in power? And can he technically fire himself from one of those positions, or is he perhaps un-fireable? I want to the know the duties of each position, or if they are all just one in the same and a fancy way of saying, "Dave Dombrowski has a lot of power".

CEO and president are about the same, both are above GM. He could appoint someone to take over the GM and president roles if he got tired of doing the job, but I don't think that counts as firing. I think the only one who could fire him is Ilitch.
Okay, but what are the duties of each?
Hehehehe duty...

That still doesn't help me. What exactly does a baseball CEO and president do? I understand they can be one in the same, but when they say a CEO is charge of the "daily operation of the company", what does that entail in the baseball world? Certainly not everything from stadium maintenance to advertising and marketing, right?
Without reading those wikipedia pages, I would think that General Manager relates to the team operations while President/CEO relates to the business operations. General manager would be in charge of negotiating player salaries, managing the farm system, and making decisions about player acquisitions.
The President/CEO would have business department heads below him: Directors of Retail, Marketing, Sponsorships, Ticket Sales, Food Service, Stadium & Field Maintenance, Operations, etc. I can't imagine the difference between President and CEO.
So Dombrowski is in charge of all of that?!?!?
DELEGATE DOWN!
