Have You Heard This Kid Yet?

Greyson Michael Chance is making the internet rounds with his version of "Paparazzi"...and it's damn good, too. The coolest thing is that Greyson is only a 6th grader, and not only does he do an amazing cover, he's already written two very beautiful original songs on his own (just type his name into YouTube, they'll come up). Very talented.

The kids at my school have "Beiber Fever"...which makes me want to rip out my hair. The kid is a no-talent ass clown and it boggles my mind that anyone, even a twelve year-old, would like him (I guess that's me being out of touch with today's youth). But mention his name at school, and the girls start to blush and giggle, and the boys start talking about how cool he is. Ridiculous.

Well today I showed my homeroom the video of Greyson and told them they should like someone like this kid. You know, a person with some talent. I fully expected them to rebel against me for trashing their beloved Justin Beiber, but from second one until the end not a single kid made a sound as Greyson played. It was kind of cool that they actually appreciated and enjoyed this kid.

It's obvious that Greyson is a talented singer....but I didn't like the song.

Maybe I'll like him better in a few years.

I've heard the name Justin Beiber, but I don't know anything about him or any of his songs.
....but since you hate him, I'm a fan.

Ok, so I listened to this version and the version when he appeared on Ellen. Don't get me wrong - I think he's talented. His singing skills are good, but he needs vocal training. The acoustics of this version mask some of the problems that are apparent in the Ellen version. Especially the part at 2:54 of this version.

That said, he is way more talented than the ass monkey that is Justin Beiber.

The kid is in 6th grade!!! Sheesh!

Don't you think that's impressive for his age? I'm not saying he's 100% polished and all that, but he's got talent!

Hmmm...I just listened to it again, and that 2:54 mark is one of my favorite parts! Haha, I liked that it sounded raw; it seemed emotional (he was almost screaming into the mic). Maybe it is more bad singing than anything, but it's kind of funny how we have opposite perspectives on that part.

I'm not killing him - I said he's talented. But go listen to the Ellen version. Before he's "the next Justin Beiber" he needs vocal lessons. And I didn't mean the 2:54 part was bad in the version you posted. I meant that part in the Ellen version is bad.

Ah, okay. I thought you meant this version.

Definitely right about the Ellen version.

I hope he doesn't become the next Justin Beiber...Hopefully he'll take his newfound fame and turn himself into a respected artist in the end.
