This is what Drew Neitzel, our senior team-leader, said about Michigan after the game yesterday:
"They can be 0-20 or 20-0, and we still want to beat them as bad as we possibly can."
Love it.

I LOVED to see Neitzel finally starting to come through. I was excited about Kalin Lucas' contributions and Marquise Gray's confidence. I would much rather see one freshman play really well than 3 play decently well.
I was impressed with Marquise Gray actually scoring WITHOUT grabbing an alley-oop dunk pass. He made a nifty baseline move for the and-one, and I'll have to say I was pleasantly surprised by it. Hopefully that can continue.
Kalin Lucas has far and away separated himself from the rest of the freshmen, and deservedly so. He is a playmaker in every sense of the word, and I love it. It's been awhile since we've had one of those, hasn't it? Perhaps Mo Ager and Shannon Brown could classify, and maybe Mo Taylor, but this is a point card who's quick and seems to get his shot off whenever he wants.
The three keys to MSU success in any game:
1) Raymar Morgan has to stay on the floor. I still seriously think he's the vital cog that makes our machine go. He can burn people down low, and he lessens the pressure on Neitzel.
2) The big men have to contribute. Something. Anything. They just can't be gumps picking up fouls. Rebound. Pass the ball to the open shooter. Don't committ turnovers. Hit a wide open jumper. Positive big men minutes.
3) Less turnovers. The one negative from the U of M game is the turnovers. Cut them down. The travels, wild passes, charges...those are on MSU, and can be avoided. So avoid them.
We do those three things, we are a top-3 team in the land and a final four contender, guaranteed.
Point card?
I think that Naymick has been playing well for us. Not that he's been spectacular, but he knows where to be when he's on the court and he usually makes good decisions. I agree with you about the big men. We need Suton, Naymick, and Gray to play well in March if we are going to make a deep run.
shut up...i'm not perfect, even though I look it.
